John Killah
trained as a lawyer in the West End specialising in film
and music. On qualifying as a solicitor he worked both in
industry and in the City with Herbert Smith before moving
to the West Country.
Over the past 20 years John has gained
a reputation as a formidable advocate. Indeed, he still practices
as a freelance advocate in the local courts and tribunals.
John has during this time also been successful Managing Partner
of two leading firms based in Somerset.
Having spent 25 years
working within the profession, John could see a pattern of
dynamic change rapidly emerging which would cause a seismic
shift for all lawyers. John quickly realised that lawyers
could no longer be all things to all men and the way forward
was to decide whether to become a lawyer or a business manager.
Russell Killah was therefore created to provide that business
management service with the benefit and re-assurance of a
full knowledge of the legal profession.
John is also a writer
and broadcaster specialising in sport and the legal profession
and, like Claire, is a member of the Law Society’s Law Management
Section.
